Another Year

Another year has come and gone.  Squirt, you’re a year older.  One more year until you graduate from high school.  It’s hard to believe that this is where we are right now.  It seems like just yesterday I was taking you to your first day of high school.

It’s been a more difficult year, but I’m quite positive we’re not the only parents to deal with teenage issues.  But at their worst, we know we’re still so blessed.  We want more from you because we know what you’re capable of, what is in store for you in a few years.   We can’t live your life and make things easier for you.  We can only prepare you for what lies ahead.  And that my son is what we’ve tried to do and why we’re often on your butt about things.

One thing that will never change is our love for you.  Ever.  You’re our son, and we always have your back.

This is going to be an exciting year for you.  I hope you embrace all the opportunities that come your way.  Happy Birthday, Squirt.

I love the look on your face in second picture. Love, Blessed, Pride, Joy, Happiness! Can’t believe you guys will have a senior next year. Happy Birthday, a little late Drake!

  2. From Nicole:

I can’t believe we are here. It just seems way too soon. Sigh.

  3. From Denise:

I know what you mean. Sitting here looking through a HUGE box of pictures tonight & feeling the same thing. I just came across Wally’s college graduation photos. WE WERE BABIES! Then came across pics when I had David 25 YEARS ago! I was so skinny & would love to look like that just for one day! As we have talked about ENJOY every single moment of the kids growing up, I know much easier said than done! I wish I had made more time for mine, life just SPINS around us so quickly. Just saw tweet about Jessica graduating. I know how close you to are. Have a great weekend & celebrating her graduating!

  4. From Nicole:

Life is spinning…just way too fast. Now that summer is here, let’s get these boys together. Baby Z might even be walking soon.
